Guilia Di Nardo, Undergraduate Student, Mechanical Engineering
Giulia Di Nardo is an undergraduate student at McMaster University in the Integrated Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences program, specializing in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, she is investigating methods to simulate the mechanical and material properties of human tissue. The goal of this research is to develop a software that can create a 3D model from a laparoscopic view during surgery. The model aims to help surgeons determine the optimal location to pull on human tissue during dissection to reduce tissue harm and improve surgical techniques, specifically for young surgeons. This work is being completed under the supervision of Dr. Dolatabadi and Dr. Tembely.
Liang Yan, Undergraduate Student, Mechanical Engineering
Liang Yan is an undergraduate student in mechanical engineering at UofT, minoring in robotics and mechatronics. He is a member of the University of Toronto’s Aerospace Team, and a certified SolidWorks Associate. His role at CACT is to help build an aerosol deposition system. He is working under the supervision of Prof. Dolatabadi.
